Where are you going next?

About Tess

I first began traveling at 19 when I had no money, no clue how to properly plan a trip, and no idea how much travel was going to change my life.

11 countries and 10+ years later, I’ve figured out how to have meaningful travel experiences without spending a fortune — no 20-person hostel dorms or instant noodles required.

I’m here to direct you toward the best traditional foods, fun neighborhoods, ways to learn about local history, and outdoor spots — so you can leave having experienced the real essence of a place.

Whether you’re escaping for a weekend, a week, or even longer, I’ll help you travel better, deeper, and without breaking the bank.

I especially love sharing guides to Rio de Janeiro (where I’ve been a bunch of times), and Los Angeles, where I live, but you’ll see destinations across the U.S. and Latin America here.
